today i want to take a break from some of the motivational/inspirational, though i do love to write and talk about it. instead, today i want to just tell you about my excitement and anticipation for summer.
similar to belly in the summer i turned pretty, i kinda measure my life in summers. pretty much all of my friends know that each summer i leave to istanbul, turkey for the entirety of the summer, which i've been doing since the summer of 7th grade.
i'm just so so so excited for all the things:
seeing my grandparents
meeting up with my friends
going to the islands
taking my brothers to go grocery shopping
exploring the city
eating AMAZING food
and the list could go on forever.
all we need to do is get past the next 24 days, which honestly sounds like a lot of time, but in reality its only about 3 and a half weeks. (WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY INSANE!!!) though i'm excited and what not, i get so overwhelmed at the thought of these next few weeks because it's going to be jam-packed with exams and my black belt exam and final hangouts with friends before summer.
but it's all going to be worth it in the end when i'm on that 11 hour flight to get to my home-away-from-home!
i hope you enjoyed today and i'll catch you on the next one!!
today i was scrolling on pinterest and saw this photo. to some, it may look like an ordinary photo or a collage of different windows. but to me, it shows how everyone is in a different stage of life and coming from a different walk of life.
some are having the time of their lives while some are not. and there is no reason whatsoever to compare your life with someone else's because it won't make you feel any better than you do now.
you have to understand this: the right things will come at you at the right time.
yes, this is such a horrible thing to hear as someone who isn't the most patient person in the world, but it's so true. life will definitely throw some curve-balls at you, but getting through those hurdles makes you stronger and prepares you for the amazing plans your future has for you.
don't worry about others. don't worry about what's going on in their lives. don't worry about all of the highlights you see on social media (some are fake...).
keep your eyes on YOUR road and focus on driving to your destination, whatever that may be.
i'm rooting for you!
i hope you enjoyed today and i'll catch you on the next one!!
read this quote on the right. no matter how your day was today, good or bad, think about something that went well, or was the highlight of today.
maybe it was laughing with your friends, or someone giving you a hug, or maybe it was a new experience. whatever it may be, every day brings something new and special, which you should cherish.
this quote brings me to tell you about this awesome thing that emma, my best friend, and i are doing this year. for each of the 52 weeks of 2026, we are writing one (or a few) highlights of our weeks and putting them into a jar to open on new year's eve of this year.
i've honestly loved doing this and absolutely cannot wait to open the jar at the end of the year to see what an amazing year i've had. i honestly couldn't recommend this enough and if you think it would be hard to remember, it's not. i simply set a reminder for each sunday at 7pm and keep the jar on my desk as a reminder if i hadn't done it for that week.
with all that being said, always look on the bright side. look at all the wonderful things that have brought you to where you are today and don't forget to be grateful for what you have (because one day that could all disappear)!
i hope you enjoyed today and i'll catch you on the next one!!
today i'm gonna be talking about project hail mary (hence the title...)!!
this past saturday, i went to watch the movie with my friends emma and elah, after being recommended this movie by several people. if you haven't already seen the movie or seen anything about it, watch the trailer below!!
first off, i'm gonna be honest, i thought this movie was going to be kinda boring because i didn't entirely know what it was about, but let me tell you, I WAS WRONG. the cinematography was absolutely beautiful and honestly, everything about it was perfect. i loved the attention to detail as well as each of the flashbacks we get, to see a bit deeper into grace's life and how he got into this situation in the first place.
also, i wanted to say how touching this movie was. on multiple occasions i felt myself get teary eyed because of how well the movie gets you attached to the characters. though there are only 2 main characters, they develop such a close bond with eachother (and the audience) that it doesn't get boring to watch.
i also thought that the script was absolutely hilarious. there were so many jokes that got my friends and i dying laughing.
and finally, if nothing else, watch this movie for ryan gosling!!
i hope you check out project hail mary and i'll catch you on the next one!!
as we start to wrap up the school year and finals begin, i've been starting to feel so burnt out.
doing anything feels like a chore. it's hard for me to get any work done at home or at school. i just want to sleep and hangout with my friends.
and remember last week when i said everything was starting to come together? yeah, i think i spoke too soon. but that's not the entire point.
the point of this post today is for you to understand that it is completely normal to feel burnt out, whether it's senioritis or whatever it may be.
there are some days where you will feel like your most productive, motivated self, and there are others where you can't even bring yourself to get out of bed. and knowing that it's okay to have both ends of the spectrum is important.
acknowledge your emotions and don't try to suppress them because it will only make you feel worse.
so, here's to the final stretch of the school year. we're in this thing together!! summer is only 44 days left (if you're in broward county)!!!
i hope you enjoyed today and i'll catch you on the next one!!
today i'm going to be talking a bit more about this quote from yesterday's post.
"some talk to you in their free time and some free their time to talk to you. learn the difference."
obviously, there could be many different interpretations of this but here's mine:
first, there are some people who talk to you because there is nobody else for them to talk to or essentially if you're their last resort. but there are others who MAKE the time to talk to you. those are your true friends, so hold them tight and cherish them.
going back to the first type of person, these are the people who only talk to you when they benefit from it. for example, if you are working on a project in class, someone might ask to work on the project with you, but barely contribute. and this helps them because the grade might depend mainly on the content rather than the participation level.
you have to learn to weed those people out and recognize their true intentions, even if it might not be easy to at first.
all this to say, be the person that frees time out of your day to talk to someone.
i hope you enjoyed today and i'll catch you on the next one!!
today i'll be talking a little bit about avoidance.
when i think about avoiding something, the most relatable example i can think of would be procrastination. yes, i say all the time that "procrastination is bad" and what have you, but i have yet to stop procrastinating (as you can tell by my recent posts and today being done at like 10pm...).
nevertheless, avoiding doing something, especially something that you are initially scared of doing kinda tells yourself that you actually can't do it.
before i saw this quote, i never really saw it in that way.
even though putting things off and avoiding them seems like the best option or whatever it may be, it isn't. once you take the (hard) baby steps towards this difficult thing, you realize that it actually isn't as bad as you thought it might be.
so stop avoiding the unavoidable, go do that thing!! i believe in you!!
i hope you enjoyed today and i'll catch you on the next one!!
the quote of the day is on the right. take a look and think about it.
now that you've let that sink in for a sec, you're probably realizing how true it is. people strive to be consistent and disciplined until it's time to be consistent and disciplined because they like the results.
and it's exactly that: the consistency is so impressive at the end. but really, nobody prepares you for the long, hard journey. learning to be consistent takes time. it takes a lot of will-power and self-control. there are going to be days where you want to quit, and days where you have so much motivation to keep going.
but no matter what, in order to achieve the results that you want, you need to be consistent. nobody is going to get abs doing solely core exercises for 1 day each week. to unlock the abs, you have to be consistent with the work-outs and make sure you're eating the proper meals so that your abs will actually show and so on so forth.
so, when you see someone with your "dream _", realize that they got there through consistency and you can too. no matter what anyone says, YOU need to push yourself to reach your goals because nobody else can do that.
i hope you enjoyed today and i'll catch you on the next one!!
today i'm finally going to be talking a bit more in depth about day 80 (click here to read!!)!!
you've probably heard the phrase: "take control of your life" or something along the lines of that. so, I interpret this quote, "create a life you can't wait to wake up to" in that same sense.
make each day better and better and live life how YOU want to.
don't let other people's opinions or thoughts sway your opinions. by forming your thoughts and believing in them, it makes you stronger.
recently, i've noticed a change in my happiness level. maybe it's the fact that summer is coming up close, or that i have so many fun events to look forward to, but i've been so much happier.
at this moment in time, everything is starting to come together (knock on wood) and paint a beautiful larger picture that i've been waiting for for so long. i also realized that once i stopped taking others too seriously and just let go, i live my days with so many more laughs and smiles.
and for me, that's what matters. with that being said, create a life that you are happy to live. that you are excited about. because nobody can do that for you. you need to do it for yourself.
i hope you enjoyed today and i'll catch you on the next one!!
though i always preach not to procrastinate and etc., unfortunately i did today and i won't be able to write about what i promised yesterday...
instead, i want you to read this quote. think about all the many times i've talked about the importance of having a good circle of friends and people who support you no matter what. the people you surround yourself should be those that make you love yourself more (not to sound egotistical or anything).
i hope you enjoyed today and i'll catch you on the next one!!
i'm sure you've seen that trend that influencers/tiktokers would post their insecurities and say something like, "you didn't even notice right?". well that's the point here. only YOU notice your insecurities or your "flaws".
those things are what make you you and what differentiates you from everybody else on this planet. so, instead of hating those things about yourself, try to see the positive side.
realize that these things make you unique and nobody can tell that you are insecure about your legs or your height unless you point it out. don't take yourself as serious and i promise it'll make you happier.
i hope you enjoyed today and i'll catch you on the next one!!
today i'm going to be talking about courage, per sabrina's request!!
we were looking over all of my recent blog topics, and for some reason they all point in the direction of being brave and courageous.
sometimes you have to just go for it and do the thing that scares you. yes, it is nerve-wrecking, but it'll all be worth it in the end. being brave is a scary thing. it takes guts and mental strength. but just believe in yourself.
go talk to that person, ask that question or whatever it may be. because if you don't, you might regret it in the future. so don't live with regrets.
do what future you will pat you on the back for. or future you might laugh and tell this story to their future children. you got this!!
i hope you enjoyed today and i'll catch you on the next one!!
i really had a great day today, and i hope you had a fantastic day as well!
you are probably wondering why my day was so good, huh. well, if you were, let me tell ya!
i'm gonna be honest, i'm not entirely sure why my day was so great, but i talked and walked with someone new today and i really enjoyed it.
also, my classes were actually fantastic today. fifth period, i have chinese, and the classwork was so easy and I got it done super quickly. in study hall, my friend and i watched our show, dead to me (on netflix), and got through quite a bit of episodes. in financial literacy, i just chilled and talked with my friends. and during aice lang, my teacher was in a great mood and we actually had an interesting assignment.
another thing that contributed to this amazing day that i had was the food i ate. for breakfast, i had toast with peanut butter and banana, some eggs and blueberries. and lunch and dinner were basically just chicken and noodles and some veggies but it was so yummy.
this was the first overall good day i've had in a while and i just really wanted to document it!! and if you haven't had a good day in a bit, just know good things are coming. good things take time.
if you don't know what kimchi is, it's korean spicy fermented cabbage and it's so yummy. in order for the kimchi to get yummy and good, it takes time for the fermenting process to take place. so when you have bad days, think of the kimchi! just know that good things are coming to you and God has a plan for you!
i hope you enjoyed today (and my little rant about my day) and i'll catch you on the next one!!
i thought this was very lighthearted and funny but here's the reality: someone is always going to have something bad to say.
i'm aware that this is a common theme on my blog, but it's true. no matter what you do, say, or think, someone will always have a negative opinion on it and there is nothing that will change that.
yes, as a people pleaser it's very hard to accept this, but the sooner you accept it, the easier it is to live your life to the fullest. instead of worrying about others opinions, worry about your own.
do YOU like what you're wearing? do YOU like the grades you're getting? do YOU like your current friends?
if not, then YOU need to take action. people can hate all they want but don't let that stop you from doing things that you want or love to do.
i hope you enjoyed today and i'll catch you on the next one!!
jump outside of your comfort zone. if YOU don't, nobody can make you because you don't HAVE to do anything.
in order to make progress or get a certain result you want, it will be scary at first. but every time you do that thing that scares you, you chip away the scary and it becomes natural and comfortable.
you got this!!
i hope you enjoyed today and i'll catch you on the next one!!
you probably know the saying, "you are who you hang around". i know i have and i've been told it MANYYY times throughout middle and high school.
to be honest, i never really realized how true that statement is until recently. i'm not sure what clicked in my head but here's what i'll tell you:
if you hang around people who are consistently getting into trouble, getting bad grades, are disrespectful to their parents or adults, then you will eventually become that too. you might say, "oh, but they're fun to hang out with and i don't say or do those things!"
that might be true at this moment, but because you are constantly hanging around them, that behavior becomes the norm and you develop those behaviors subconsciously.
on the complete opposite side, there are people that are striving to reach their goals, care about their grades because they know it'll affect their future, and are positive people. in my opinion, those are the people that i want to be around.
those types of people push me to do better and be better as well as influence me to be a more positive person who cares.
so, think about it for a bit. what type of people do you surround yourself with? would you want introduce them to your parents? or your future children? if yes, why? if no, why? do you think there is anything that you might need to rethink?
i hope you enjoyed today and i'll catch you on the next one!!
today i wanna remind you that you GET to live this life.
not to make this depressing or sad at all, but we all run out of time eventually. one day, we're all gonna die. one day, ai is going to take over the world (i hope i'm not there for that one.).
so, live each day like it's the last. live your life to the fullest, with no regrets.
don't take advantage of the moments that you spend with your loved ones, the hugs and kisses you give your parents before bed, and the facetime calls with your best friends, because this can all be taken away in an instant.
all that said, don't be afraid to shoot your shot in anything. because the worst that someone could say is "no". and seriously, we've all been through worse things than being told "no", though it's the worst.
in essence, YOLO!!!!
i hope you enjoyed today and i'll catch you on the next one!!
today is a little bit different because i'm going to be telling you about "people we meet on vacation", the book and movie!
as you probably know, recently netflix released the movie adaptation of "people we meet on vacation". i watched it with my friend, martina, and we absolutely loved it. watch the trailer below if you haven't watched the movie yet!!
i LOVEDDDD the movie so much. i thought it was the cutest rom-com ever and just such a cool idea that i think was executed pretty well. so, i decided to read the book and LET. ME. TELL. YOU.
if you have the chance to read the book, i highly suggest that you do. i do not regret a moment of it. i finished it in less than a week, and it wasn't even a week that we had a break. it was a school week, which says a lot. it was highly addicting to a point where my mom had to tell me to stop reading every night, though sometimes i got a bit annoyed.
the movie simply doesn't compare to the book because of how much detail it goes into (duh, its a book), but it makes you connect to the characters even more. in the book, you get to look deeper into poppy and alex's vacations and i feel like it is so much more of a slow burn and "will they, won't they".
i also think that the movie adapted the book fairly well, because they were able to condense a lot of the key moments and it still made sense. i won't spoil it, in case you haven't watched/read it yet, but at the end of the book, i was tearing up a little because of how well written it was. i just felt like i was experiencing every moment with them.
and lastly, i think that the end of the movie with the running was much better than in the book because it just showed how poppy would do anything for alex, even the things that she absolutely hates.
but yeah, if you haven't already go check the movie out on netflix and borrow the book from the library!! i don't think you'll regret it, but on the tiny chance you do, i apologize in advance (you won't regret it.).
i hope you enjoyed today and i'll catch you on the next one!!
today i'm going to be talking about how much fun i think learning new things about people is.
recently, i've made friends with someone who has been in my class all year long and it's just so much fun getting to know about him. and i also made friends with a few girls from miami who are just the most fun ever.
whenever i go on cruises, i love to make friends. (i honestly just think i'm an outgoing person.) and its so entertaining and cool to learn about these new people that i wouldn't otherwise have met if i hadn't gone to that event or on that cruise.
i think i just love learning new things about people and getting to know someone who i might not have gotten to before. i love hearing their likes, dislikes, their experiences that are completely different from mine and i think this also has something to do with the fact that i know that everyone is unique in their own way because if we weren't the world would be boring.
so here's your sign to go learn something new about someone. make a new friend. or maybe even rekindle an old friendship if that's your cup of tea.
i hope you enjoyed today and i'll catch you on the next one!!
