day 68: never give up

hello hello hellooooo!! welcome back to another week of maia & more!!

read the quotes below.

basically, i feel like the moral of this story is to never give up. if USAIN BOLT trained for 4 years to run only 9 seconds, you can do it. trust the process and most of all, enjoy the process.

yes, you are training to achieve your goal, but if you hate the process it will not get you anywhere.

i hope you enjoyed today and i'll catch you on the next one!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 67: if you don't believe in yourself, nobody will

hello hello hellooo!! welcome back to another week of maia & more!!

first and foremost, happy day 67 of the blog!!! if you've been sticking around, thank you for your support and if you're new thank you for reading!!

in honor of day 67, i'll be talking about a lamelo ball quote (who is 6'7), which you can read below.

"i believe in myself." have you ever said that to yourself?

if you did, when was it? and why don't you say it more often?

in the beginning of my blogging journey, i wrote a post about affirmations and why/how they work. "i believe in myself," is definitely one as well. write it on your mirror because if you what you see and what you say every day makes you who you are.

another point i want to bring up is that if you don't believe in yourself, nobody will. YOU have to bring the confidence. and if you aren't confident in yourself or your capabilities right now, you need to take action.

or, fake it 'till you make it! seriously though, when you act like you belong in that room or act like you own the place, people will subconsciously give you respect because they are under the impression that you believe in yourself.

and once you see that others believe in you, it will only give you confidence to believe in yourself. you got this!

i believe in you.

i hope you enjoyed today, that it all made sense, and i'll catch you on the next one!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 66: do it for yourself

hello hello helloooo!!

today i'm gonna piggy-back off of what we talked about yesterday: growing up.

as you guys probably know, today is my little brother, han's 7th birthday. and this morning, i was laying in bed with him and my mom and she asked something like, "do you wanna grow up?" and he answered, "no, i don't wanna grow up!"

but i think many of us can relate to the feeling of rushing to grow up, especially as little kids, because we think teenagers and adults are cool. yet once you arrive, you realize how much you wished you just lived in the moment.

i wished to be a teenager so that i could have a phone, a boyfriend, drive and all that jazz.

and now, i struggle with most of the stuff i thought was cool or thought i would be doing at this age. i honestly don't mind not having the "cool" teenager life, because some of it isn't fun for me and what have you.

what a diva!!
but, when i am having a fun time out with my friends or whatever it may be, i think about how little me would think i'm the coolest ever.

and sometimes if you don't have the motivation, tell yourself that you're doing it for little you. little you would want you to be happy and live life to the fullest, even if they wouldn't quite know what that means yet.

i hope you enjoyed today and i'll catch you on the next one!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 65: wow, are we really growing up?

hello hello hello!!!

aging is a blessing. let that sink in.

tomorrow, march 29th, is my little brother han's 7th birthday. as each day goes by, i see him slowly grow up and i even get a little teary-eyed thinking about it.

han and i have an 8 year age gap, which is absolutely crazy to think about. because when i graduate high school, he's gonna be finishing 3rd grade. WHAT??? when HE graduates high school, i'll be 26. that's absurd.

i remember like it was yesterday that i was sitting at the piano in our old house in kansas and getting piano lessons and all the things. in january, i played at the miami international music festival at UM which is insane to think about.

now, it's been about 4ish years since we've moved to florida and honestly, everything is passing by so fast.

freshman year flew by in the blink of an eye, sophomore year is coming to a close in literally 2 MONTHS. which means that i'm half way to the end of high school, when i feel like it has just begun.

2 years from when i'm going to be 2 months away from graduating and being sent out into the real world.

about 1 year until i have to make the decision about what i want to do with my life, which is crazy.

but right now, i just need to enjoy the moment. i'm not gonna get too caught up in the craziness and logistics of it all, but i'm getting closer every day to the days i use to dream about when i was little.

i got my permit recently, getting closer to being able to drive alone. i'm 15, my golden birthday was this past year, a day i've been dreaming about since i knew what a golden birthday was.

this brings me to my final point: don't take anything for granted. you never know when is the last time you'll see someone. or if you'll be able to experience this wonderful experience again. so take it all in.

i hope you enjoyed today and i'll catch you on the next one!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 64: overthinking

hello hello hello!! today i want you to read this quote. let it sink in and i'll be discussing it tomorrow.

(if you want to add your thoughts to tomorrow's post let me know your thoughts on this quote!!)

i hope you enjoyed and i'll catch ya on the next one!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 63: your mistakes don't define you

hello hello hello!! welcome back to da blog!!

today i'll be talking about mistakes.

how does it feel after you've made a mistake?

it probably doesn't feel the best whether it was a mistake on a test or you forgot your notes at home.

though it is sometimes very hard to avoid mistakes, you can't let your mistakes consume you.

look at the picture to the left.

does the world change after you've made the mistake?

no. that's because mistakes happen. mistakes are what make us human. mistakes are what shape us to be who we are today.

mistakes can help us achieve our goals by helping us get on the right path to success. but you won't get anywhere unless you actually make mistakes.

don't be afraid of messing up. MESS UP. take time to see what works and understand why it works. if something doesn't work, don't be discouraged. pick yourself back up again and try again. it doesn't hurt to try.

you've got this!! because guess what: your mistakes don't define you. how you handle the mistakes is what does.

i hope you enjoyed today's blog and i'll catch you on the next one!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 62: not everyone is in the same race as you (part 2)

hello hello hello!! welcome back to da blog!

before reading today, it is important that you scroll down and look at day 61 for more context.

just because you see someone else doing good or suceeding you or reaching your goals sooner than you does NOT mean that they are better than you or more capable. you are only as capable as you set your mind to be.

take your time, trust the process and most importantly: enjoy the process. not everyone is able to have the privilege to experience the highs and lows of life and your journey. each part of your journey shapes who you are today and who you are becoming, so don't rush.

as i said in a post a while ago, i'm not religious, never have been and i don't intend on making my blog religious at all, but God has a plan for you.

right now might not be your time, but everything will work out in the end. this is why you shouldn't be too hard on yourself. stop comparing yourself to others because you don't know the full story.

have positive self-talk. be kind to yourself. if you aren't kind and supportive to yourself nobody will be. there is only one you, so cherish it. don't wrap yourself up in the drama of being jealous of others, though it definitely is hard.

if you wanna read more about affirmations and self-talk, read day 5 here!!

i hope you enjoyed today and i'll catch you on the next one!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 61: not everyone is in the same race as you

hello hello hello!! today i want you to just meditate on this below.

not everyone is your competition, and not everyone deserves your time and energy. let that sink in

i hope you enjoyed today and i'll catch you on the next one!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 60: how to be happy

hello hello hello!!! today i'll be talking a bit about how (in MY opinion) to be happy.

as someone who classifies herself as a competitive person, i realize that i must reach my goal(s) to make myself happy. of course, there are other ways that i find happiness, like surrounding myself with good people. but you shouldn't rely on others to make you happy. rely on yourself.

but back to that first way that makes me happy: reaching a goal.

recently, i've been getting a lot of videos about 75 hard on my social media and if you're unfamiliar with this challenge, here are the rules.
  1. follow a diet (with no alcohol or cheat meals)
  2. complete 2, 45-minute workouts a day (one indoor, one outdoor)
  3. drink one gallon of water
  4. read 10 pages of a non-fiction book
as you can see, it is extremely demanding and requires you to be extremely disciplined for the duration of the challenge which is around 3 months. yes, the process must be grueling, boring, and at some point you must get unmotivated, but the fact that these people are able to continue pushing is fantastic.

after completing 75 hard how do you think these people feel?

i think it of course, makes them overjoyed with the fact that they were able to prove to themselves that they can do hard things, but are also happy with their outcome.

maybe their goal was to lose weight, or gain muscle, or maybe just to complete 75 hard. but as the name entails, 75 hard is HARD. you should be happy with themselves for simply just completing the challenge. some of these people were probably not feeling like they were ready for 75 hard, yet they threw themselves into it and they should pat themselves on the back for that.

so, this is your sign to do something hard and to step outside your comfort zone. if you "fail" at this, try again. keep trying until you get an outcome that you are happy and proud of. do it for yourself.

i hope you enjoyed today and i'll catch you on the next one!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 59: be unapologetically you

hello hello hello!!!

today i'm going to be talking about being unapologetically you. it's another day where you have to watch the video below to find out!

as james said in the literal last 2 seconds of the video was to be "unapologetically you".

so you must be asking yourself, "maia, what do you mean by that? why do you keep saying it?"

well, as i've probably said close to 100 times on this blog, don't let other's opinions dictate your self expression and what you think of yourself.

this youtube short quite literally proves that NOBODY CARES. nobody cares that you're breaking out. nobody cares that your outfit isn't on "trend". nobody cares that you haven't shaved your legs. nobody cares that your nails aren't done.

but when i say this, i don't actually mean that nobody cares about you. there are SO SO SOOOO many people that care about you. what i mean is that nobody cares what you do, what you wear, what you look like, etc. only you care, and that's what matters.

so because nobody cares, YOU have to be the one that cares.

instead of subconsciously thinking to yourself, "will they like _?", try to change it to "do i like _?". do things that make you happy, that make you proud, confident, and help you be yourself.

so yeah, i hope you enjoyed today's little reminder!! i'll catch you in the next one!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 58: lin manuel miranda is a musical genius

hello hello hello!! how's it going?

today i'm going to be talking about the wonderful lin manuel miranda and musicals in general.

as you might know, all of middle school i was a theater kid, which i'm not embarrassed to admit. i made my best friend through theater and i just have such amazing memories.

today i was vacuuming my house while listening to burn from hamilton. as i was listening, i was thinking to myself: "wow, lin manuel miranda is really a musical genius. how in the world did he write an almost 3 hour long musical about HISTORY??"

and then i went on to think about how many musicals he's written (which is 4 if you were wondering: in the heights, bring it on, hamilton, and 21 chump street). i'm completely in awe of his work and how creative he is.

one more thing i want to say: go watch your local theater productions. seriously. over the years, i've watched probably over 12 productions from local theaters. and yes, sometimes the tickets are expensive, but in my opinion it is SO extremely worth it.

all of my playbills from the past 4 years (some shows don't have physical ones anymore)

near us, there are theater companies such as inside out, broadway kids, and flct. i also love going to watch musicals at american heritage which eat every time. every single production i watch from them never miss. mind you, the actors and actresses are all (usually) teenagers.

these people are SO talented. i cannot stress to you enough. after every show, i walk out out of the theater in awe, with my jaw on the floor.

so please, go support!! go appreciate the arts. appreciate the young talent that is bound for broadway and the big screen.

so yeah! that's all for today and i'll catch you on the next one!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 57: maia: unfiltered

hello hello hello!!!

today is a bit different, in the way that i'm actually sharing something that i made today.

i'm currently in AICE media studies and as part of the AICE exam, we had to create a 2 minute film opening about whatever we wanted.

we worked on these projects for 7 weeks and had to blog about our whole process for cambridge. below is a link to my final post with my project attached and let me know what ya think!

my opening is based on me, i know, pretty creative, and how i started a blog. and that's all for today! i hope you enjoy my 7 weeks of hard work!!

i'll catch ya on the next one!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 56: do it _. (part 2)

hello hello hello!!! welcome or welcome back to maia & more!

i know lately i've been slacking a bit with the blog, so i'm here today to make that up. today's topic is the same as yesterday's, except i'm going to actually be explaining what it means to me. so if you haven't already, please go check out day 55 here.

below, i've listed all of the "do it's", from the YouTube short from yesterday, but of course, they aren't all of the possible ones.
  1. do it tired
  2. do it scared
  3. do it unmotivated
  4. do it sad
  5. do it alone
i'm sure you're acquainted with the plethora of excuses that we give ourselves in order to not do something. but here's the reality of the situation: you have to do things that you don't want to do in order to achieve your goals.

you're going to have to show up for yourself on days where you feel like you can't even get out of bed. you're going to have to wipe away your tears after you get broken up with because it's not the end of the world. you're going to have to study for that test even if its the last thing you want to do in order to get that A.

but nobody can make you do something. YOU have to choose to do it. not even HAVE to. you don't HAVE to do anything. you GET to do these things.

you GET to sleep with a roof over your head. you GET to go run that 2 miles or hit a hard session in the gym.

most of all, do it because your today is someone else's dream day. some won't even be able to experience a fraction of the experiences that you get, so TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT!!

thank you for reading and i'll catch ya tomorrow!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 55: do it _.

hello hello hello!! today's post is to watch this video!!

i'll catch you on the next one!

day 54: you don't learn to swim by reading about water

hello hello hello!!

today's topic is pretty much: don't be afraid to just jump into it.

so, during this week, spring break, i'm finally going to be getting my driver's permit!! (yes, i know how late i am but that's okay!)

when i think about driving it scares me a lot and i came to this realization: nobody "teaches" you how to drive, you just have to do it.

of course you read about how to drive and each step you need to take when you do your permit course, but you don't have 5 lives or a practice round before you actually sit behind the wheel.

the same thing goes for baby birds. if you think about it, their parents kinda just throw them out of the nest and hope that they fly.

so if you apply this to other things, you kinda just gotta go for it. you have to believe that you've prepared yourself enough for this moment and believe in yourself.

sorry for the shorter post today and i'll catch you on the next one!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 53: 10 minutes of discomfort or stay uncomfortable

hello hello hellooo!!

today i'm going to be talking about something i saw a while ago while scrolling.

i saw this quote that says something along the lines of, "10 minutes of discomfort or stay uncomfortable for the rest of the day". and honestly, it's really been getting me through the hard days.

so as you probably know, i'm testing for my 2nd degree black belt in the beginning of may (which is both exciting and stressful) and for a portion of the exam, we have to run 2 miles in a certain amount of time.

you might also know that i got shin splints at the beginning of this school year, which has been preventing me from running as well. now, my shins are doing much better and so i've started to run with my brother (who is also testing for 2nd degree) in the mornings.

for the longest time i've hated running. i'm not kidding. at the start of 8th grade, my mom asked how i'm going to introduce myself in my classes and i said, "hi! i'm maia and i hate running." so because of this, running is very difficult for me, especially because i don't wanna re-injure myself. but that's not the point.

as i run, i get to a point where i'm telling myself i can't do it anymore but i know that i can. i found that telling myself to stay uncomfortable just a little longer will make me more comfortable in the long run.

so yeah, that's the current mentality and i just wanted to share in case you wanna get on the summer grind because it's not too late!! thanks for reading and i'll catch you on the next one!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 52: treat everyone equally

hello hello hello!! welcome back to the blog!!

today's post is just to read the quote above and let that sink in.

thanks and i'll catch you on the next one!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 51: don't automatically assume

helloooo!! today i want you to watch this video below. it's only 6 minutes long, and don't lie and say that you don't have time. you certainly do because i know you spend at least 30 minutes a day doomscrolling.

after watching, do you realize how much we can assume about someone even if it's not about appearance? well, i do. i want to make it a point for myself to stop assuming things about others ESPECIALLY when we don't know the full story.

so yeah! i hope you enjoyed today's little reminder and i'll catch you on the next one!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 50: mistakes are proof that you're trying

hello hello hello!!!

today we're going to talk about how mistakes are proof that you're trying. (i might have already written about this in one of my past days, but that's okay! it's important.)

we all make mistakes. you, me, even bella hadid.

we are all human and making mistakes makes us human. nobody out there is perfect because there is no such thing as the perfect person.

making mistakes helps us to get us where we want to be. so don't be afraid to make mistakes because winners are losers who tried one more time.

let that sink in.

it's like riding a bike. when you start, you start with training wheels. you might fall off and scrape your knee, but the scrape will heal. these mistakes will help you get on track to eventually ride without training wheels and maybe even ride without any hands.

so, don't be sad or disappointed when you make a mistake. learn from it and move on. if you keep on trying, eventually you'll get the results you want. don't be afraid to make mistakes and don't stay hung up on your mistakes.

i'll catch you on the next one!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 49: you can be rich with no money

hello hello hello!!!

today's topic is about how rich you can be in life without having a penny to your name.

on day 46, i wrote about how family is one of nature's gifts to us. well, not just family members make us rich in life. our friends and our experiences also contribute to that.

in my opinion, i am currently so rich in this life. i have friends who i love, family who i care for and they care for me, and i've had so many once in a life time experiences already.

having a good group of people that you surround yourself with can make all the difference in your life.

there are so many people out there who struggle with making friends or struggle to maintain good relationships that help them thrive, so don't take for granted anything you have now.

this actually reminds me of the COVID-19 pandemic a little bit. during the pandemic, we all realized everything we take for granted: going on walks, hanging out with friends, even going to the grocery store.

if you really think about it, some people can't even experience some of those things which makes me really sad. so, never take what you have for granted. please realize that we are so rich in life. we have lives, experiences, relationships, that some dream, of but will never have.

so tell those that you love that you love them. and cherish every moment you have. i'll catch you on the next one!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

Wednesday, March 11, 2026

day 48: try everything!

yello!! how's it going? (i hope well.)

today i'll be talking about how you should be proud of trying, even if you do end up failing.

please read the quote to the right.

i think that this is absolutely SO true. for some odd reason, many people of our generation laugh at others who try or express themselves freely. in my humble opinion, i think that being brave enough to try is an accomplishment in itself.

for our halloween spirit day at school this past year, i dressed up as the mouse from "if you give a mouse a cookie". i was planning this costume out for probably months at that point and was extremely excited about it. a ton of my friends complimented it, which made me super happy.

later in the day, i walked into my friend's math class to pick something up from her and after i left, she told me that when i had walked into the room a few of the guys in the back were laughing at me. these guys, in fact, did not dress up for halloween, which just makes them the bums.

now, this little comment could have ruined the rest of my day, but i didn't let that happen. because i loved the costume and was planning this for months, i didn't care. i still walked with my head held high and a smile on my face.

here is a little picture of my costume!

i just wanted to remind you that in a world where it might be "embarrassing" to do something that you want to, don't be afraid. just try it. so what if you fail? so what if people laugh? part of life is expressing yourself and who you want to be.

i'll catch ya on the next one!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

Tuesday, March 10, 2026

day 47: stop doomscrolling

hi there!! today i'll be talking a bit about why we should put down our phone.

as i'm sure all of us are aware, our generation is going through a doomscrolling epidemic. actually, not just us, some parents and adults are going through this with the rise of tiktok, instagram reels, and a billion other ones.

at the beginning of 2026, i saw this trend called something like "analog era" which basically means that people are trying to bring back regular hobbies that aren't online.

these types of hobbies include any type of crafting, going on walks, reading, and anything you can do off of your device.

though i have also fallen a victim of doomscrolling, i've been trying to make better habits of using my time more wisely so that i don't procrastinate and essentially waste my time. i try not to go on my phone every second i'm free, though it's tempting.

one thing that might be helpful is to first find a hobby that you enjoy. and second, maybe keep your phone away from your bed at night because i know that MANY of use (including me) scroll endlessly before going to sleep, which is extremely unhealthy. and this is also helpful to not immediately go on your phone as soon as you wake up.

so now, i have a question for you. how much screen time are you using on social media? do you think there's a problem with those numbers? let that sink in.

i hope this helped a little in giving you a reminder and i hope to catch you on the next one!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 46: family is one of nature's masterpieces

hello hello hello!! i hope all is well with you. today's topic is about cherishing the time and love you have for your family.

a few weekends ago, my 6th grade brother, aslan, was obsessing over making these paracord bracelets and wanted me to help him. so, throughout the day i was helping him.

later in the evening, i was doing homework and he asked if he could make a bracelet in my room. when i was going to sleep i just realized how much i love him. like my life without him would be so boring because he is that random facts kid who will tell you all of the things he believes from YouTube shorts and makes my days more interesting.

as a teenager sometimes you might be neglectful towards your family, but you should really soak in every moment with them because soon enough, you're going to be in college and might not live at home. when you get there, you're gonna miss them and wish that you didn't spend every waking moment doomscrolling or just in your room all alone.

we also do taekwondo together, so whenever he gets sick and i'm on my way to practice with only my dad in the car, i realize how much i'm going to miss him if i move away for college.

the same goes for my other brother, han, who is 6 and an absolute ball of energy. i didn't fully realize it before, but my brothers make my life so much brighter even if sometimes we bicker and argue.

so yeah, cherish every moment with your family members. if you don't, one day you definitely will regret not doing it.

thank you for reading today and i'll catch you on the next one!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

Sunday, March 8, 2026

day 45: everything will work out!

hello hello hello!! i hope everyone has had an amazing day and i apologize for the past two days crappy posts.

today i'm writing to you about the fact that everything will turn out fine. maybe even for the better.

this one is a bit similar to day 9, so please feel free to read that one as well!

first, read the quote to the left.

now, think about it for a minute.

the things that you've suffered through and struggled through helped you be who you are today.

for example, if you kept failing your chemistry tests, it probably made you feel horrible, huh? well, if you saw your score and asked your teacher what you did wrong, you hopefully improved the next time around.

the things that bring you down help you come back even stronger the next time. when you feel stressed or frustrated about something, just know that you have to experience these struggles to gain knowledge and experience and everything will work out in the end.

even if it isn't the path you thought you would take. though i don't practice a certain religion, nor do i want to make this religious, i do want to say that i believe God has a plan for you. you got this!! keep persevering and i believe in you as well.

thank you for reading and i hope to catch you on the next one!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 44: just start it

hi there!! i don't have much time to write today because i definitely did NOT procrastinate...

but here it is!! today's topic is essentially to "just do it" or "it's never too late".

just start the gosh darn thing!!

this past year i kept putting off having to do my permit course. every school break i would tell myself to do, it but just wouldn't.

finally, i finished this past week and it feels like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders.

so this is your sign: start the youtube account or just start going to the gym. if you keep procrastinating, you'll keep putting it off and it will never happen.

you got this!! i'll catch you on the next one!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 43: be an ocean

hi! today is going to be a bit different that the fridays in the past where i give you something to watch and ponder. instead, today i'm going to be giving you a quote to read and interpret.

i saw this quote and genuinely didn't know what it meant. so if you have a clue please don't be afraid to leave a comment!!

as of right now, i think it means just be your whole true self, don't make yourself smaller for others, but what do you think??

thank you for your suggestions and i'll catch you on the next one!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 42: intensity does nothing, consistency is everything

hey there! i'm glad you could make it today because we're talking about how consistency is everything.

if you know me, you know that i NEVER skip a day of taekwondo practice unless i'm absolutely sick or injured. basically, i'm always there.

because i'm so consistent i'm able to get properly educated and perfect my technique while also learning proper sparring tactics. if you read day 7, you know that i've been to excruciatingly hard practices that last for 4-5 hours each.

those practices are the ones that help build your endurance and perseverance and resilience but going only to those 5 hour practices isn't going to do much for you unless you show up consistently.

when you show up consistently you are able to improve your technique, stamina, strength and paired with those difficult practices, you're able to improve your mental game as well.

you can't just do one or the other.

don't get me wrong, intensity is important, but personally, i think that consistency wins. if you aren't consistent, things won't work out for you.

let's use getting abs as our example of today. if you want abs, you should do your ab routine every day or maybe every other day (i'm not exactly sure don't fact check me). but if you're doing a harsh abs session once every 2 weeks, it won't do anything. on top of doing your ab routine you also need to be in a caloric deficit so that you can actually see the abs as well.

i think that you just need to have a balance that works for you. be consistent but don't overwork yourself. the balance is key.

thank you for reading today and i'll catch ya on the next one!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 41: don't worry, be happy

hello hello hello!! today's post is all about not letting your worries take control over you.

yes, of course everyone has things that they're stressed about or worried about, but worrying doesn't make it go away. worrying just gets you more stressed out for no reason.

most of the time, the things that you worry about are actually no big deal, but you blow them up to be.

when you are too focused on your troubles, you aren't able to put your best foot forward. so, let go of those worries and just be prepared.

instead of being stressed about what could go wrong, you should you prepare yourself for that big exam or whatever it may be and you have to trust in your preparations that you will do well.

so don't pull an all-nighter or cram all of the material in the night before, make sure that you know all your information so that you can get the best grade possible.

you got this!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 40: don't let your ice cream melt while you're counting someone else's sprinkles

hi there!! today i'll be talking a little bit about comparison and focusing on yourself.

i've interpreted this quote on the left in two different ways, one is that comparison is the thief of joy (which i won't write about because i already have on day 28. read me here!!)

the second is to focus on yourself, because if you are laser- focused on improving yourself, you won't have time to focus on others.

today i saw this quote on pinterest, and was like, "wow that's actually such great timing." this past weekend, i was complaining to my mom about all of the people that have been annoying me.

after letting me get my feelings out, she told me to stop because this just shows how i'm actually not focused on myself. i'm focused on the people who tick me off that i can't improve on myself.

so, don't let other's behaviors take control of your attitudes and behaviors, because YOU are the one that is in control. as i'm trying to focus more on myself and less about others, i find myself becoming happier and (i'm not sure if this has anything to do with it but) spending more time with my family.

thank you for reading today and i hope to catch you on the next one!!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 39: small wins matter!

hello hello hello!! today's topic is about how all of your small wins matter.

if you are a high school student, i'm sure you get asked about what college you want to go to or what you want to study almost every time you meet an adult. personally, i don't know the answer to either of those questions and i'm not in too big of a rush.

this is because i know how big of a decision it is to answer either of those questions.

so, it's okay to feel lost. it's okay to feel overwhelmed and frustrated and it's okay to feel every emotion you're feeling because your emotions are valid.

now, because of this, celebrate your wins, no matter how big or small.

celebrate doing the things that you love and making time to love yourself, your family, and all of the privileges that you are blessed with.

don't be shy to be proud of the small things like making your bed or brushing your teeth because there are some out there who are struggling to do so.

i hope today's topic wasn't too all over the place and somewhat made sense. and most importantly, i hope it gave you a little reminder that it's okay not to have everything figured out yet. you got this!! i'll catch ya on the next one!

don't wish for it, work for it.

day 38: you are flawless

hi! happy sunday! today i'm going to be talking about how nobody sees your flaws.

ya know when you make something or do something, but you didn't do it to your standards so now you see every little flaw?

that's how i feel every time i do my nails (which is quite often).

and a while ago, i saw a video similar to the one i made above.

the point of all this is that others don't see your insecurities or your flaws. they see you as a whole.

so, present yourself as you want to be perceived. if you want others to think that you are a confident person, be confident.

and if you can't put on a brave face (yet) to act the way you want to be perceived, FAKE IT 'TILL YOU MAKE IT!! that might sound a bit stupid or cliche, but it works.

if you act like you own the place and walk with a purpose, then you will dominate the room. so next time you're insecure about something, don't be. nobody can tell that that's what you're insecure about until you tell them. so simply don't be.

have a fantastic rest of your day and i'll catch you on the next one!!

don't wish for it, work for it.
